The Center for Teaching Excellence offers a Guest Teaching Observer Program.

Guest Teaching Observer Program

To participate, faculty should pair up*, discuss what you are looking for in terms of feedback, and each visit each other’s class, and then talk about how it went. The goal is to get honest discussion going, purely for the benefit of the involved faculty. This is open to anyone who is teaching a course this semester, and will not be part of any official evaluation process.

The Faculty Observer Program fosters honest, non-evaluative discussions about teaching by pairing colleagues to visit each other’s classes and reflect together afterward. Pairings of 2–3 faculty are ideal, with a $30 budget per participant for snacks or meals to support teaching discussions before and/or after the class visits. No stipends are offered, but the real benefit is the opportunity to learn and grow through shared exchange.

To Receive Reimbursement: 1) a member of the group must submit a brief application listing all participants and their courses using before any visits; and 2) a member of the group must submit a short report using within 7 days (and no later than 30 days) of the last visit.
