How to Reapply for Financial Aid
Paying for college is a multi-year commitment—and we’re here to support you every step of the way. To be considered for financial aid each academic year, you must submit the required documents every year by the appropriate deadline.
Before you begin your financial aid application, make sure you have the following information and documents ready—it’ll help the process go more smoothly.
- Your Social Security Number
- Your parents' Social Security Numbers (if you are a dependent)
- Federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other income records
- A working email address and FSA ID
Here’s how to get started:
Step 1: Complete your FAFSA
The FAFSA determines your eligibility for federal and state aid programs. You and your custodial parent must each create an FSA ID to log in, sign, and submit the FAFSA electronically.
Occidental FAFSA Code: 001249
Step 2: Complete your CSS Profile
Occidental uses the CSS Profile to determine your eligibility for need-based institutional aid. If your parents are divorced or separated, your noncustodial parent will also need to submit a separate CSS Profile.
Occidental CSS Code: 4581
Step 3: Submit federal tax returns and W-2 forms
Occidental uses the College Board’s IDOC service to collect supporting documents, such as federal tax returns and W-2s.
Step 4: Complete the Student Supplemental Application
Complete this online application to be considered for need-based scholarships. The app can be accessed through your financial aid portal in myOxy. It only takes a few minutes.
Step 5: Check your portal for updates
After submitting your forms, log into the Financial Aid Portal in myOxy to track the status of your materials and verify that all documents have been received.
