In addition to teaching at Occidental, Prof. Schindelman is a biological curator for WormBase at Caltech.

Dr. Schindelman was the recipient of the 2015 Donald R. Loftsgordon Memorial Award for Outstanding Teaching and also the Kurata teaching award in 2024.
